Hey y'all! My name is Meighan Stacey and I am 36 years old. I have been married to the love of my life, Patrick, for 11 years. We live in South Carolina with our beautfiul 8 year old daughter, LilyAnne and 2 fur babies, Tucker and Leo. My dear friends call me "Fancy" because we have 2 "Megans" in our friend group-one spells her name Megan and me...well, my name spelling is "Fancy" they say. (Thanks to our Queen B who gave me this nickname). I've realized as I have gotten older that Jesus and family are most important and friends who treat you like family are also the key to living a happy life! I'm so blessed with the best family and friends. They have loved and supported me so much throughout this journey. Without them and my faith in Jesus, I don't know how I would have made it through. <3
I have struggled with ovarian cysts since I was in my early 20s. In 2012, Patrick and I decided we wanted to start a family so I stopped birth control and we actively began to try and get pregnant. We tried for almost a year and we were unsuccessful so we decided to see a fertility speciliast considering my past with ovarian cysts. I was diagnosed with "unexplained infertility." We decided to try fertility medications and I got finally got a positive pregnancy test on Easter 2013. We would find out soon after that I was pregnant with twins! Unfortunately we lost one of the twins at 9 weeks, but we still had one healthy baby girl on the way. On November 27, 2013, LilyAnne was born and it was the happiest day of my life. In November 2014, I had my first ectopic pregnancy and I was rushed into emergency surgery. The doctor was only able to save one of my fallopian tubes, so now it was going to be even more of a challenge for us to get pregnant again. Over the next few years I had 3 miscarriages and 1 more ectopic pregnancy. In 2020, we decided to embrace our life with our amazing daughter and to take a break from "trying" to get pregnant because it was physically and emotionally draining for me/us. On March 24, 2022 our lives were changed forever when I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. This is the story of my cancer journey.
